  • Las Vegas is one of these places you either love or you hate, but it is definitely one of these places you have to visit once in your life, even if you decide after going that you’ll never return. And as long as you know what to expect you can definitely find something you’ll enjoy even if you aren’t a big gambler.

Obviously one of the main reasons to go is to visit the many casinos that line the Strip. Which casino you choose really depends on what you are looking for. Visit the Bellagio if you are looking for extreme luxury, transform yourself back in time in the Roman-themed Caesar’s Palace or enter a pyramid far from Egypt in the Luxor. Every casino offers something different.

If gambling isn’t quite your thing the local hotels can still be a great source of entertainment. The Venetian, which has managed to recreate the Italian city, offers live theatre performances and a nightclub.  Las Vegas is one of the best places to see a show, whether it be a musical, a magic show with world renowned magicians like Penn and Teller or a revival of one of your favourite musicians. Celine Dion, Elton John, Britney and Prince are but some of a few of the singers who have headlined in Vegas.

During the day you could always hit The Forum Shops, which has over 160 stores offering high-class goods not normally seen in your local mall, including an opal shop and an endangered species store.

And as for the food, you can eat food from literally any country in the world. Hit Spring Mountain Road to get Asian delicacies from Thailand, Vietnam, Japan or Korea. If you fancy splashing out a bit, you can book a table in one of the number of celebrity chef owned restaurants. Hubert Keller’s ‘Fleur’ and ‘Gordon Ramsey Steak’ are well worth a visit.

If all these reasons still don’t tempt you, how about just relaxing by a pool in a luxury hotel and getting pampered in one of the many spas.
