Caribbean Islands, Bahamas
Ever fancied sliding through shark-infested waters? Me neither, but the Leap of Faith at Atlantis, Bahamas, let’s you do just that risk-free.
Riders set off from the top of a Mayan Temple where they are dropped through a 60 ft almost vertical chute at hair-raising speeds, reaching 35 mph passing through a see-through tunnel submerged in a shark-infested lagoon. This is certainly one of the most extreme waterslides on the planet and certainly requires a ‘leap of faith’, however, people often say it all happens so quickly you don’t really notice when you shoot past the 14 foot-long reef and nurse sharks.
Although this may not be the best way to get up close and personal to sharks, it certainly requires a ballsy person to take this ride.
